The moment Caleb’s lips touch mine, my entire body sizzles with awareness. A flush of heat warms the space between us, and my nipples tighten with need. His fingertips just barely flex against my skin, prompting my lips to fall apart. I sigh, waiting for his tongue to touch mine, but I’m disappointed when he pulls back. When our eyes meet, his are dark and focused. On me.

“I’ve wanted to do that for years,” he pants.

“Why didn’t you?”

“I didn’t want to start something I couldn’t finish. You deserve better than a summer beach fling.”

A smile tickles my lips. And I step almost flush against him, my head tilting back a little more so I can keep my eyes on his.

“So, you’re saying you want to finish that kiss later?”

“Yes,” he smiles.

“I’d like that, too.”
